NOTE This book was previously released as The Christmas Wedding Scheme.
Book Length Approx. 18,000 words

The Christmas season has always been important to Nash Sinclair. Home from the war and surrounded by his large, loving family, he realizes what is missing from his life a wife. Not too surprisingly, he is looking at his sister-in-law’s rather becoming (and unmarried) sister when he makes the decision.

Lady Julianna intends to remain unmarried, having no need for a husband to live the life of her dreams. Rather than explain her unusual choice, she insists only a man who slays dragons would suit her, and since dragons don't exist, neither does her ideal beau.

Not one to turn away from a challenge, Nash enlists the aid of his nieces and nephews in a scheme sure to win Lady Julianna's affection. But as he comes to know the lady better, he realizes he’s risking his own heart. When did his silly idea become a crucial quest?

Love story with no sex just sweet and clean. I wish more regencies were like this. Characters were delightful and I would love to see more from this family.

A Bride for Christmas Sweet Regency Novella edition by Aileen Fish Robin Haseltine Romance eBooks Reviews

I don't normally read regency romances but this one was free so I decided to give it a try. The pace of the hero, Nash, and heroine's, Juliana's, relationship development was certainly slower than in a contemporary romance but I'm sure it was historically accurate. I enjoyed the humorous banter between the two as they got to know each other. I appreciated the fact that they both came from stable, loving, even happy families. There was no real conflict in the plot other than that both Nash and Juliana had to redefine their own perceptions of their future lives. Nash hadn't really thought about marriage and Juliana had definitely decided against it. I also appreciated my glimpse into the customs and language of a bygone time.

There is no sex beyond a quick kiss and the language is clean. I'd recommend it for anyone.
I just adored this story! I loved the characters so much! The Sinclairs are an awesome family. They remind me a lot of the Musgroves in Persuasion. They're so loving and caring and an all around NICE family. It makes a change to have a hero from a loving family. It makes the romance seem more genuine because he knows what a happy marriage looks like and actually wants what his siblings have instead of being blindsided. He also knows the heroine in advance because her sister is married to his brother, yet he's never properly appreciated her because he's been at war and not searching for a bride.

Nash is a great hero. He's handsome, caring, a wounded war veteran and very witty. I was completely charmed by his sense of humor and I loved his interactions with his family. It all felt so real and so familiar to me. Julianna is a heroine I can really really relate to. Like her, I have no desire to marry or have a family. I'd rather travel and write like her. She thinks she's selfish and I'm selfish that way too. Like Nash and Julianna, I crave solitude from my crazy, loud, loving family.

The romance comes together in such an incredible way. I just adored the moment when they realize they're in love. It's a true LOVE scene, no physical contact, no racing hormones, just a deep emotional connection. The hero and heroine get each other completely. I also loved that she had doubts. She didn't doubt her love for Nash but she doubted whether she was cut out for marriage. I can see myself feeling exactly the same way in the same situation. I loved how Nash won her over. It's very sweet. Julianna's final decision happened a bit too quickly for me but this is a novella and not a novel so I guess the author ran out of space. A full length novel would have her reject Nash and then travel to Belgium and have him rejoin the army and be at Waterloo where Julianna realizes she can't live without him. I actually enjoyed the change from the usual plot and it's fine the way it is. The only other thing I would have liked was a few kissing boughs. There's actually not any real kissing in this story except on the hand but I think the story is stronger because of it.

I'm not usually a big fan of children in novels (or in real life) but they're used sparingly here and help to advance the story in a charming sort of way.

I can't gush enough about the aww factor of this book. If you're looking for something truly sweet and heartwarming you MUST read this story. It's secular too so that's a nice bonus.
This is a very chaste story and a sweet one.

Our heroine is visiting her married sister over the holiday, and she finds herself rethinking the path she has chosen. She had a few seasons but never found a man whom she felt she could truly love. She has become a companion to an elderly aunt, though she yearns to travel and do some writing.

Observing her sister and the other married couples, as well as their children, makes our heroine wonder if she has chosen correctly for herself. She fears she is too self-centered to make a good wife.

Our hero is a war hero who had barely survived his wounds. There is a scar on his face but it doesn't hinder his good looks. He had not thought of marrying, finding most of the women he meets to be too juvenile. Then he begins talking with our heroine. Not only is she attractive, she is older and wiser than the women he has met.

The couple talk about what it is they both want in their life, and as they talk the first fluttering of attraction forms. Our hero decides to convince her to marry him as he has fallen in love with her.

There was nothing more than a kiss in this story. I prefer a bit more heat in romances but this was a good story.

I would recommend it.
I really enjoyed Nash and Julianna's story. Julianna is staying at Nash's family home during the Christmas holidays with her family. Nash's older brother and Julianna's sister are married. Nash is from a large, boisterous family of five children. Nash is the second oldest and the only unmarried one, except for his youngest sister. Both Nash's father and Julianna's are Earls. Nash has recently retired from the Army and is looking to settle down. However, so far he has been unsuccessful in finding a young lady he would like to marry. Julianna, on the other hand, is determined to never marry. Nash is attracted to Julianna and his feelings for her grow as he gets to know her better. Julianna realizes that Nash is unlike any other gentleman of her acquaintance, but is still determined to remain on the shelf. How Nash convinces Julianna that they belong together makes a very sweet story. FYI Nash is 34 and Julianna is 24 for those of you who like to have more details in reviews...lol. This is definitely a sweet romantic story....very clean. The author keeps the characters' behavior true to the time in which the story is set, which is shortly after the Napoleonic war. Despite its short length the author managed to create a story that leaves you feeling completely satisfied at its conclusion. Both the plot and the characters are fully developed. I would definitely recommend this story.
